Our mission is to help Spirit Tech follow a similar growth curve by 2035, without compromising on spiritual integrity.

The sector is at an inflection point. ChatGPT is the most widely used spiritual coach in human history. With rapid advances in generative AI, real-time sensing, state modulation, and the science of awakening, we now have the tools to guide people into deeper realms of spiritual experience at scale.

By channeling funding and talent into Spirit Tech, we can accelerate the development of breakthrough inner transformation tools. As more people have spiritual transformations, energy flows back into the sector, creating a virtuous flywheel of sector growth and leading to more collective flourishing.

If built skillfully, modern technology can complement ancient spiritual technologies in a way that plays an important role in raising our collective consciousness. Spirit Tech deserves an ecosystem that supports ethical, spiritually aligned innovation, anchored in wisdom and trust. Unfortunately, the infrastructure rails don’t yet exist.

At STC, our focus is to build the infrastructure and conditions for that ecosystem to emerge. May our efforts be of benefit to all.

The Importance of Spiritual Development

What is Spirit Tech?

Our working definition of the Spirit Tech sector sandbox includes organizations building and enabling scalable¹, scientifically congruent², innovations that support deep spiritual development.³

1. Scalable

We define scalable as having ambition and demonstrated potential to benefit at least 100k people.

2. Scientifically congruent

We define scientifically congruent as not in direct contradiction with current scientific understanding, while recognizing that scientific validation may not yet exist for many emergent phenomena on the spiritual development path.

3. Spiritual development

We define spiritual health as the deep sense of meaning, vitality, and connection that emerges from self-transcendence and expanded present-moment awareness. It transcends, yet is supported by, our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing and cultivated through spiritual development, a continuous journey of exploration, practice, awakening, and contribution.

The Spirit Tech Database

Our first initiative was to map all of the organizations within the Spirit Tech sandbox to understand the current state of the sector.

The purpose of the database is to support motivated funders and talent learn about and better understand the opportunities within the sector.

Included organizations must contribute to one of the four nodes of the spiritual development process:

Exploration

Learning about diverse spiritual ideas and frameworks to catalyze a deeper motivation for practice.

Practice

The continuous pursuit of expanding self-awareness, reprograming the psyche, and stabilizing recognition of deeper truths.

Awakening

Peak experiences that give direct access to expanded states beyond ordinary self-awareness, sparking insight and motivation to deepen practice.
